I believe that every case is powerful and that everyone deserves a zealous, thoughtful, and strategic advocate. I consider it a privilege to wield my experience to be that advocate for our clients.
Rachel Barrett represents plaintiffs in medical malpractice lawsuits. Before joining the firm, she worked as an assistant Hennepin County public defender, where she gained ample litigation experience. As a public defender, she learned to effectively convey to judges and juries both the emotional narrative and the unique legal issues of every case. She has already put her trial experience to work here at Ciresi Conlin.
Before practicing, Rachel served as a judicial law clerk to then-Judge Margaret Chutich and Judge Diane Bratvold of the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Clerking gave Rachel valuable insight into judicial decision-making, which helps her to tailor her advocacy to the audience of each case.
Rachel graduated with the highest honors from William Mitchell College of Law, where she contributed as a staff member to the William Mitchell Law Review, served clients in the school’s Immigration clinic, and represented William Mitchell in a national moot court competition.
Before law school, Rachel volunteered with the Peace Corps in Guatemala, where she assisted coffee farmers with legally organizing into a cooperative and empowered women to contribute to the coffee trade. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in Hispanic Studies. Rachel is fluent in Spanish.
