Paralegal – Mass Tort Group

Summary of Position

Ciresi Conlin LLP has an opportunity to be a part of a mass tort group in our litigation firm. We work in a collaborative, team-based environment, where service to our clients, communities and camaraderie within our office are values shared by everyone at the firm. Responsibilities include assisting lawyers in preparing and organizing various legal documents in support of leadership committee work.  Primary duties include maintaining document depositories, using e-discovery document review platforms and case management databases, drafting and filing/serving legal documents for court filings and discovery, preparing binders for briefing and court hearings, pulling case authorities and rules for attorney review, and managing numerous deadlines and client files. The paralegal will engage in multidistrict litigation (MDL) work, including helping attorneys prepare for depositions, motion practice and briefing, expert discovery, and bellwether trials.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably handling mass tort MDLs and/or providing paralegal support before and during trial.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office™, Adobe, and Westlaw skills.
  • Experienced with e-discovery, including database organization, searches, productions, redactions, and privilege logs.
  • Strong ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail; communicate effectively with team members to ensure deadlines are met; and accurately enter time in billing software.
  • Highly organized self-starter who can work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exude professionalism to ensure a positive workplace atmosphere.
