I am dedicated to helping others navigate judicial systems to reach just and fair results. I have diligently litigated cases of varying levels of complexity and scope at all stages including serving as trial counsel through jury verdicts. I bring to bear my courtroom experience and unique perspective to understand, convey, and advocate for others’ stories and truths.
Bibeane “Bibi” Metsch-Garcia is an associate at Ciresi Conlin. Immediately prior to joining the firm, Bibi was an Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia where she prosecuted cases involving domestic and international narcotics trafficking and money laundering, white collar crime, and violent crime. She served in this role for over four years and was most recently the office’s Lead Attorney for the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. Bibi tried cases to guilty jury verdicts including an eleven-count bank-fraud conspiracy case. Bibi successfully investigated and resolved dozens of other cases involving a variety of crimes of a complex and/or international nature. Bibi appeared and argued frequently in federal court, litigating on behalf of the United States.
Before becoming a federal prosecutor and gaining experience as a trial attorney, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Cathy Seibel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Bibi was also a litigation associate at two international law firms in New York City and Washington, D.C. At those firms, Bibi worked on a broad array of civil matters spanning securities litigation to breach of contract, antitrust claims, and a merits case before the U.S. Supreme Court. Her prior experiences have ranged from working on high-stakes litigation involving one of the largest technology companies in the world to representing indigent defendants.
Bibi received her B.A. in Political Science from Williams College and received her J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School. Before starting law school, Bibi worked as a paralegal in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York where she assisted with several jury trials resulting in guilty verdicts. During law school, she was an Articles Editor for the Michigan Law Review and Chair of the Henry M. Campbell Moot Court Board.
Bibi is a first-generation American with her mother hailing from Venezuela and her father from the island of Curaçao.
